long living snowmen

snowflakes

Can you believe that my snowmen are still around? It's been about two weeks since we made them. We've had lots of cold weather, so they're doing pretty well. Mom says they are the longest living snowmen we have ever had! We've had two snowstorms since we made them, but the winds come and blow the snow away from them so they don't get buried. As you can see from the picture, we have snow drifts on our deck and on our roof! Winter may have come late this year, but it's definitely here now!
In case you haven't seen this before, here I am with the snowmen the day we made them. We've never made a family of snowmen before, so we really had to hunt hard for hats, scarves and eyes for the snowmen. It's very hard to find any rocks in Maine this time of year! Did you notice what we used for the little one's mouth? It's a leftover candy cane! snowman family
stormy snowmen Here are the snowmen a few days later, after weathering a snowstorm. We got about 8 inches of new snow and lots of wind, but the snowmen came through it pretty well... just a piece or two missing.
Here they are DURING our next storm. Don't they look brave? The winds took a glove or two, but that's okay... we'll probably find them next Spring! And I will remember how much I loved my little snowman family.
